Treated myself to a Greggs sausage roll while I killed 13 minutes before an appointment with a certain individual (I can't say who or why because it's confidential so please don't ask). While I snacked on my savoury pastry I made some notes in my journal but, cor blimey guv'nor, wouldn't you know it, my pen ran out! I remained calm, however, and told myself I must rapidly adapt to this new reality, no matter how ill-prepared I may have been. I stared at my part-consumed sausage roll and formulated a new plan. Noting a small area of burnt pastry I broke off a piece and used it to continue adding words of profound depth to my journal entry. So, to all the bakers at Upminster Greggs, I offer my heartfelt gratitude for the creation of that sausage roll.
