Please take Note for anyone thinking of booking at this accommodation Id think long and hard about wasting your hard earned money untill things have improved. The business is currently operating illegally there is no fire plan in place and no smoke detectors fitted to propertys No fire point. Before I arrived Id messaged the company to ask what cooking facilities were available despite their clams to monitor emails regularly it tuck beyond 24 hours to get a reply to a simple question. While the place is to represent an old world feel Hagrids cottage one would expect better standards When climbing into bed found a pair of dirty socks from a previous guest while was assured the bed had been changed I ask how a pair of dirty socks is able to be under a so called freshly made bed quilt ? Anyone have an explanation as to how this is possible please let me know To me the bed had not been changed from the previous guest. The water to me personally didnt smell right was informed there water supply comes from a spring. And that the smell is from the copper sink and pipes thats safe to use according to them, any plumber would argue that copper absorbs water as it leaches from fittings or brass faucets copper can contaminate water of pipes are corroded. The copper pipes to me looked as if they was not hygienic and there did not drink the water, to me it just didnt smell right. The back door to the property was stuck and did not open enough for a person to fit Given that the property is mainly wood this is also a fire hazard especially if there was a disabled visitor who could not mange the step steps at the front of the property. The floor in property is uneven and daughter and myself tripped a few times. Some of the windows the glass was bowing in places and need caution if you were to open as its going to break. Draws had items left from other guest in and were dusty. The information booklet and guest review book tatty and the information included dos not included any fire plan or any fire points for if an emergency was to happen. Pages missing from the review book that have been ripped out, wonder why ?? The garden was unkept. The bath fittings are sub pair and also the bath fitting are dangerous in my opinion there is a screw thats been placed there to switch water fork bath to shower head difficult to move and also when Turing this to use the shower head while I was in the bath the hot water continues to run scolding hot water into the bath tap the shower head also dos not keep a steady temperature and switchs from scolding hot to freezing quite quickly. The bedding used is poor quality and if youre lucky maybe its clean and no one will have previous slept in it. The hob used for cooking was dirty and doesnt work correctly the microwave looked to not have been cleaned recently. The whole place need maintenance I personally had to repair a curtain wire that kept falling down in the bathroom not idea if your in bath and the window is to the front of the property and people walk in the garden to take photos outside The curtain whirl I understand are to represent old world curtains it would help if theyre actual closed properly and didnt let as much light into rooms. Some of the cutlery was dirty The bathroom has no shelfs to put items on while your in the bath have to hold everything or constantly get up and down to reach into sink to get shampoo etc no hooks to hand towels or dressing gowns forced to leave everything on the floor. Not ideal when you discover that the property had mice running around. Sat up from 2am sacred to sleep until my daughter woke at 6am in order to leave as soon as possible. When contacting the site manger after rerun home to raise issues Was told should have raised issues while there to witch I informed them I did during the day on more than one occasion but no one answered the phone. Please seriously think before booking maybe was lovely once but certainly now very neglected and illegal
