I attended a few weeks ago, having never looked into chiropractic care before, not really knowing what to expect. Plenty of free parking nearby, and reception were polite and helpful, and appointment was on time. I had sent the medical history over prior to the appointment, but I wasn't entirely sure if it had been looked at at all. Some basic checks done, x-ray taken, and asked to come back a few days later for the report. This session itself, I was shown one of the two x-rays taken, detailing a curve in my spine that I was advised was the problem. At this point, a treatment plan was given to me; 2 sessions a week for 9 weeks, significantly discounted if paid upfront. I felt like there was a bit of a rush at this point to get me back to the reception area, not really explaining more about what sort of treatments/techniques would be used, how the benefit comes, what would be the signs that it wouldn't be effective etc. After all, if you're paying for 9 weeks, but there was zero improvement after 2, you'd probably question things. My employee insurance was how I was hoping to pay, however based on what I'd just been told about prices, I needed to confirm first. One member of staff overheard me saying this as the reason I wasn't booking the treatments that day, quite loudly stating "All insurers cover this". I thought this too, but it turns out that the scheme my employer uses does not cover chiropractic. Funds aren't an issue for me, but the passing comment sadly didn't leave a great impression. After leaving, I had an email from the practice. I thought this might contain a bit more information about the treatment plan, possibly have the xray images etc, but all this contained was the prices to begin treatment. Perhaps my expectations were too high, although the email was sent 15mins after leaving the clinic, and there were no follow-ups. Overall, with what happened at the Report of Findings, I just didn't feel this was the right place for me. That's not to say that others will have the same experience, or to suggest others do not obtain benefits from the treatment. For me, something just didn't feel right about the whole experience I had, to the extent I decided not to take up the treatment plan provided.

When I made my first appointment I was struggling with many every day things. After taking a full history of my issues and having some X-rays I was started on a course of adjustments. I have a way to go but have improved so much over a period of 60 days. Every member of the team are so caring and professional. I wish I had found them sooner.

Felt pressure to get my treatment here. Have asked a radiologist for a second opinion and have been told that my X-rays were fine and not to panic (as I was after my meeting). Regret that I have wasted over 100 to feel panicked and back to square one to find some help for my shoulder and neck. Edit: The owner has since phoned to apologise for the experience I had, offered a full refund and ongoing treatment to help with my neck and shoulder pain. I appreciate the response and quick follow up.

Would highly recommend Life Effect Chiropractic. All of the team are very welcoming from front of house to the doctors. I have & am still receiving treatment for shoulder pain & back adjustments. Various massages previously only helped my pain for a short term. Since attending my sessions my range of movement has improved greatly & I feel extremely comfortable. I wish I had attended sooner.
