        A friendly welcome awaits in a picturesque setting with some cracking real ales. The scotch eggs are to be recommended.

        Before visiting this fabulous little pub, a chap had offered to help me through the lock alongside the Lock Keepers Rest as I made my way through in fading light. Having moored up, I felt I earned a pint and found that the chap that had helped me through the lock was the landlord here. The welcome from the couple running the pub was really warm and their beers were very tasty. The beers are constantly changing, so there's always something new to try. The locals in the bar were also super friendly. If I'd stayed for longer I would have tried some of the bar snacks on offer. I know for certain, when I'm passing through the area again, I'll be stopping here. Love this place.
