Reasons my experience was poor. For reference, I had afternoon tea: 1 - Single cup of tea per person 2 - Served entirely different items than described on menu 3 - Not seated in library lounge as described on website but at the bar instead 4 - Overcharged on the bill. Also, service charge auto added on despite waiting far too long for food 5 - Poor quality ingredients/food, particularly considering the price, even if it was the price advertised. Terrible value. Would have been nicer if I had made this at home. 6 - Cafe quality, brasserie prices Total cost for two: 55. What I would have been happy to pay for this experience: 30 If you are reading this, just go somewhere else :D

When we arrived I got 3 drinks at the bar a lime and soda (didn't have lime) so got 2 blackcurrant and sodas and 1 large wine came to over 16 Went for afternoon tea and we spent 82.34 for 3 afternoon teas 24.95 +10%service charge which was very disappointing better off getting a Boots meal deal The service was poor when asked if we enjoying our meal we said no and they shrugged it off. Sandwich a mixed selection of unidentified fillings We we're unable to eat There are plenty of better bar's and restaurants in Liverpool big mistake on our part Very poor presentation and content Wouldn't recommend at all

I recently spent the night in Liverpool at @double so popped down into the Turkish restaurant next door for a bite to eat Food/drink Firstly let's start with the cocktails, we ordered both on and off the menu and all the cocktails were prepared perfectly. The whiskey sours was gorgeous but I had to laugh that it took them 3 attempts to separate an egg white from the yolk! The food was good but not amazing to be honest. We had the mixed mezze and calamari to start and I just felt the calamari was a bit dull and lacking flavour whilst the mezze was presented nicely the Hummus was a bit too tangy and the pitta dry AF, like I know it's bread but this was borderline stale. When mains came and my chicken skewers arrived I have to say I was excited to dive in. I asked for a bit of ketchup for the chips and recieved approximately 10ml in a small bowl, after a few minutes I asked for a little more ketchup and was presented a tatty looking plastic bottle of sauce.... classy! Both the starters and mains were perfectly fine and I wouldn't say I was unhappy with either but I kind of expected something better. Service The staff were super friendly all evening and were always happy to help without being constantly present watching us eat. Overall() I am giving this 3.5 stars. There is some finessing needed around some of the food but ultimately this was a really nice meal with some well prepared cocktails. Not bad for a restaurant linked to the hotel.

Stayed at the Double Tree attached - went in at around 8pm. Not good, zero atmosphere in an evening (not even any quiet music playing). Owner is plastered on every picture on every wall which is a bit weird. Also, strange metal tables which made you feel like you were sat in a prison canteen. Went for breakfast the next morning included in HiltonHonors, the only thing edible was the bacon. The rest was luke warm and poor quality ingredients, not the usual Hilton produce. Even the coffee cups had grime/hairs inside them...all in all very strange experience and you can go to much nicer places on the roads just off here.
