Fantastic, I came to Aintree Davenhill from the old army camp school, Netherton Moss. The building was still being complete it must have been around 1949/1950. The first teacher I remember was either Mr Lowe or Mr Brown followed by my absolute best teacher ever, Mr Hughes. Senior teacher was, I think Mrs Carter and Mr Williams was Headmaster. I remember he had a taws, yes, corporal punishment, taught lessons and as far as I am aware caused no harm. Still remember being head over heels with a nine year old Barbara O'Sullivan. Ah, happy days.
