Ive waited for a month or so before leaving my review. I had a suspected transmission problem on my VW Golf, firstly Id taken it to 4 other places first just to try to identify the problem, sometimes waiting a week for them just to take it for a drive to diagnose the issue which they couldnt. Without an appointment I visited NW Transmissions on a Monday morning, Spoke to Ronnie, really friendly approachable, its a real family business. Ronnie immediately suggested we go for a test drive, was honest with his appraisal and gave me a price to fix it. 4 days later I collected the car after I had a new bearings and seals kit fitted to the gearbox. The price was as quoted. NOTE: Gearbox repairs are a specialised skill and most garages wont touch it so theyre going to be a bit pricey anywhere compared to other types of repair. But after driving the car it clear to see what youve paid for, the car felt different, gear selection was deliberate and secure, acceleration and steering was revitalised. Ive used the car for a month now and no issues. NW Transmissions did a great job, honest and on time. A genuine family run local business and easy to approach for an initial honest opinion. I wouldnt hesitate going back with a similar issue in the future. Service: Transmission
