Avoid. They are not on your side. Will drag on your case and create additional defendants just to double their costs. I do not recommend and wish I informed the legal aid agency about them sooner

Would hugely recommend this Service, they went above and beyond. When I thought I had exhausted every avenue and it felt like justice would not be achieved the Equality and Employment Law Centre supported me to reach deadlines and checked our submissions to ensure they were legally sound. After two and half years of hell and feeling like giving up, I was offered a settlement out of court and finally able to move on with my life. If you are struggling mentally and feel you have nowhere to turn here is a good place to start. It is important to fight for justice even when it feels too hard.

Couldnt get past the apparent gatekeeper Olivia Jones who blocked me from receiving any support.... I had been attempting to seek 'free legal support' for 6 months re an employment tribunal matter. The person answering the email/phone line therefore gatekeeper for those trying to access legal help from the service. This person either has no care or empathy for clients; or is completely incompetent. The first time I was told she would email the form I had to complete to book an appointment. She didnt send it, so I lost 3 working days. Then after I called again she did send it. I asked for the earliest appointment that she offered, I replied to confirm within the hr the slot, however I realised the day before said appointment that she did not confirm it. This meant another delay of at least 10 days before being able to access advice...! (I had an employment court case looming with zero legal advice, also CAB offices and helplines have all been closed). So I asked to make a complaint as I had confirmed an appointment that should have been honoured. To this, said person then told me that as I was complaining, she could no longer book me in for a consultation... I have called and emailed at least 20 times since to resolve this/get a consultation that was desperately required, yet ZERO REPLY. This is the only service available for people like me without a budget for legal fees > 15,000, and I am so disappointed that for the sake of one staff member, I could not receive any advice. Although having read other comments it sounds like if I did have a consultation then the advisor would have likely been as unconcerned and apathetic as the receptionist/telephone advisor. The fact that this is also a publicly funded body and is the only resource currently available from the employment tribunal list of 'FREE LEGAL SUPPORT', is really disgraceful that they offer so little to people in dire need.
