Reception staff were very nice and courteous, however found the lawyer rude, patronising, unhelpful and condescending. Very disappointed especially when I was looking for advice.

I called and spoke to Ian regarding a potential case against our company. His advice was very helpful and clear at a stressful point. And his honest assessment over how to proceed which initially did not involve using his, or any other law firm, in order to minimise costs was greatly appreciated. Hopefully our matter is settled but if it is not we will definitely using Carruthers Law to represent us. Thanks.

My husband and I would highly recommend Carruthers Law, the firm which brought our libel case to a successful conclusion in the High Court in London. From the outset we liaised directly with Ian Carruthers, who helped us deal with an extremely distressing situation involving a tabloid "newspaper" (sic) which had published a very high profile, intrusive, yet completely libellous article about us. From the outset their lawyers unfortunately refused to apologise or withdraw the article which compounded matters. The impact on our family was significant, and this was only the start of what can only be described as an emotional roller coaster, however we felt compelled to act, and we are very glad we did so with Ian's assistance. There is no way we could have achieved what we did without his efforts, and this has ultimately enabled us to move on from a very difficult time. Ian has superb professional knowledge, attention to detail and an impressive network of contacts, plus the essential ingredient of pure grit. Whilst this is not an area of law in which matters can be resolved quickly, on a human level he was able to steer us through a lengthy and tricky process, whilst dealing professionally and compassionately with our worries and frustrations along the way. His detailed and considered advice with regard to instructing Counsel was exemplary, and therefore the Court case itself was much less stressful than we had anticipated, such was the strength of the legal argument. The successful conclusion of our case is a an absolute credit to Ian and his firm, and we would without reservation recommend him to anyone who finds themselves in the unfortunate situation we did.

Mr. Carruthers has not only concluded my case successfully regarding "Defamation of Character" against multiple National Newspapers, but also conducted every step of the way with competence, integrity and reliability. He has helped me through the most horrifying times I experienced in my life, professionally as well as on a humanitarian level. He was available for me 24/7, even when on a well deserved holiday/break, talking to me, giving me confidence and trying to put my mind at rest at all times.. He never tired of my continuous questions and concerns but always replied with serenity and gave me his full support at all times. I cannot speak highly enough of this Firm of Solicitors and that includes his staff who were friendly and courteous without exception. A solicitor who cares for his clients and never to disappoint.
