Sally Bower Landscape & Garden Design

I asked Sally to come and look at a very overgrown garden that I had taken on, with a view to getting some ideas about how to tackle it. She not only did that, but after taking the time to really get to know me and my family she really understood both how we wanted to use the garden and also what design elements were important to us. We commissioned a sketch plan which was fabulous - it practically dealt with the garden in front of us, and our limited budget, and also took a wonderfully creative approach so that the design is inspired by our other interests and passions. The sketch is now our guide in everything we do as we slowly clear the patch and build the garden ourselves, and it is all coming together beautifully. I highly recommend Sally Bower Landscape Design whether you want her to do the whole job or just provide some inspiration and guidance with a sketch plan.

We have been very happy to have had Sally helping us redesign our garden to fit in with house rebuild. She listened to what we felt and thought, and tried to create with us a place of beauty, calm, spirituality and hospitality. We felt that the garden should be almost an 'extension of the spirit of the house' which we feel it is. Now several months on she has revisited to advise. She is deeply knowledgeable and sensitive. In the weeks of lockdown the garden has been a refuge, to walk along the paths, sit in stillness, watch new plants growing and birds arriving.

We commissioned Sally to develop a sketch scheme for our patio area. We were struggling to decide how to refresh an old multi level paved and concrete area and were going round in circles with over complicated ideas. Sally met us at times to suit us, listened to our aims and needs and developed a simple but effective use of space. She also researched and advised on materials and planting. We've now implemented the scheme and couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

Sally redesigned our garden for us and it has given us an enormous amount of pleasure. She spoke to us at length about our wants and needs and offered a couple of schemes that would fit the space. We discussed the plants to use and Sally never tried to force her ideas on us.She collaborated with the landscaper and would come round when needed to see him or us if there was an issue. We would highly recommend Sally. She has a great depth of knowledge and cares passionately about the environment.
