If this was a whimsical request, I would understand the standard cancellation policy being enforced however, the extreme weather conditions made it unsafe to travel, and no longer necessary as the event had been cancelled.
Greed, is a word that comes to mind................robotic policy enforcement, a sign of the times when customers are not top of mind, profit is.

The first thing to note is dated .. the TV is tiny on a metal pole. I think it was the first ever lcd tv
My evening was clouded by the fumes of marihuana in the corridor
The desk manager's solution was to walk up and down the corridor spraying perfume. The puffing dragon generating the whiff was untouched
I had a fault on the tv.. no picture.. all blue screen
The manager tried but failed to fix
The following day, I raised it with another manager, and he fixed it. Apparently, it is a button to switch from analogue??
He was a strange chap. Took great pleasure in belittling the fault I'd raised until I told him his own staff couldn't fix it the previous evening
Cut a long, awful story short. I checked out the next day, one night was enough
I was happy that the other manager, Bethany, kindly didn't charge me for cancelling so small mercies
Perfect hotel for secondary cannabis inhalation, retro mini TVs, and some dodgy neighbours
The taxi driver that took me away from the premises advised me that only asylum seekers stay there
Enough said
