Attended with hubby 6th/04/2023 for a 2-30 appointment Sherrington day ward for lumbar puncture , parking has always been an issue here but won't let parking issues dampen the care you receive here . Appointment was on time seen registrar for assessments then straight in for procedure , the two nurses were fantastic Emma and Jan took great care, put husband at ease from the second they took over him , we are extremely grateful to you nurses , thankyou for relieving the anxieties and your dedication to nursing . X white coat syndrome Steve . X blood pressure back to normal nurse Jan .

It's difficult to access this place. I seem to always be fobbed off. Their triage system for new patients is disgraceful. 3 referrals over 5 years and not one landed me with the right Neuro expert. This just kept leading to me waiting for them to investigate or poor GP to refer again. Sat with first Neuro Dr and after seeing him twice he said "I'm the wrong man for you". Then we wrote over something really simple and obvious which I'd been seen for before. They had a consultant ring me who is unrelated to anything I needed. It was clear he was pretty miffed his time was wasted and mine. If the 160 per clinic visit is legit then this trust must lose a fortune, or waste a fortune, purely by their own terrible triage. Pals teams at hospitals are worth their weight in gold. Walton have a great set of PALS operators. However, even pre pandemic you have to mither to get response. I've an outstanding issue with them totalling over a year without one reply to concern. I think we ended up seeking result elsewhere at cost of further fitness deterioration. The Trust seems disconnected, communication wise, at the most critical common and simplest points. As mentioned - new referral triage is shameful. Never experienced anything of the kind with other trusts. Parking. If you want us to use that multistorey you need to put on a shuttle. Disabled, even with wheelchairs, are lucky to survive that ridiculous trip for an outpatient appointment lasting 5 to 10 minutes. And why is there so many different rules for every bit of parking area. Sid Watkins Building looks like anpr but main build looks pay and display but no sign to inform us what to do if machines are out of order. This took us 15 minutes alone to find someone to learn "just don't pay today". Clinic Appointments: This obsession with seeing people is a recent crazy thing. For the chronically ill - why do you need to drag someone miles across the country when you've got scan results it's just another 6mthly "how're things"? PLEASE use some commonsense. Feel free to offer face to face but my last appointment felt very much a waste of everyone's time. Spent longer sat in waiting room.
