I've only had a handful of lessons so far, but the fundamental knowledge I have gleaned to date has throttled me past where I thought I'd be right now. Mart genuinely knows his theory and applies it to an understanding of the instrument that is both interesting and practical. Nothing is too much trouble and if I dont immediately understand something, we backtrack and slow it down, rather than move past it. Thats the benefit of someone who teaches for the love of music. I feel like I'm genuinely wanted to succeed on my path to proficiency. Patient, friendly, knowledgeable and talented. You don't need more in a tutor.

Having played guitar for over 10 years now, I have sat and watched hundreds of YouTube videos and read all different methods and theories to playing, with limited success. After finally deciding to look for a teacher I got in touch with Creative Tuition and set up a Skype lesson. Within 5 minutes of conversing with Martin I immediately knew I had made the right decision. Not only is he a fantastically talented musician, he is also clear, concise and patient, which in my opinion is the hallmark of a great teacher. We discussed my playing and what kind of guitarist I wanted to be, explaining that he was tailoring his lessons to what I wanted - Perfect!! Too many times I see guitarists telling ME what I should be playing/learning/practicing. It was refreshing to have my desires listened to and knowing that my lessons were exactly that - Mine. Needless to say my playing has improved a great deal over these last few weeks, and the best part is that I understand what I am playing and why. Martin has a wonderful approach to theory and is genuinely the only musician who has explained it to me in a way I can comprehend. Again, his patience is a great asset. I would urge any player of any skill level to get in touch with Creative Tuition. I would be shocked if anybody says they didnt have a 5-star experience.

I don't usually leave reviews, but I cannot thank Creative Tuition enough to be honest, have had a fair few guitar tutors and Martin was the best by FAR. You feel that he really cares about your progression and understanding. He helped me to see the whole picture using simple terms and demonstrations. I was so confused when I heard terms like scales & modes, but he made it very easy. Now that I have been a student, I think back to before I signed up and I have no idea what my plan was. I am lucky to have found such a great tutor (it isn't easy!) and would highly recommend anybody reading this to sign up with Martin & Creative Tuition.
