Firstly I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Jo and her team at Kane Funeral directors on Breck Rd, Anfield. Our family have been through a really difficult time these past three months, we lost both our parents just six weeks apart, the dignity and respect they showed both my parents and our family was amazing. They helped us every step of the way. My family couldn't be more grateful.

If I could give this undertakers on Breck Rd a minus rating then I would have done. The people in charge are Joanne and Becky. I see some people have mentioned ," Chris " with positive feed back. This undertaker has NO access to cold storage therefore if your loved one is not embalmed they remain in that room at the back, rotting away in their coffin. Due to circumstances beyond our control our sister was placed with this undertaker and was with them for 9 days un embalmed ( not our choice ) and the stench from her coffin was horrendous. You could smell it as soon as you walked into the pokey, scruffy shop. We had our sister transferred to Kane's Ashton ,," chapel of rest " which is just a shop front with one room to house your deceased, as her funeral was taking place at Greenacres funeral facility in Rainford. Again, the Ashton shop has no cold storage which we had not been made aware of prior to transferring her there. Our sister had only been in the room in Ashton for approx 1 hour. When we went in to see her the overwhelming stench of rotten flesh was unbearable and highly distressing for myself and my other sister and is a stench that will remain with me until the end of my days. The only cold storage Kane's had access to is in Manchester ! We had no choice but to request our sister be taken there in an effort to prevent any further deterioration of her remains , as her Funeral was not for another 7 days.!!! This obviously meant we could not go and spend any time with her during the run up to her funeral. This also prevented other family members and friends paying their last respects to our sister. As a family we even had to consider at one point cremating our beloved sister without ANY form of adequate funeral because the stench would have been too overwhelming for people attending her service. Fortunately Kane's took measures to mask the stench on the day, but family members could still smell rotting flesh !! My experiences with Joanne were less than satisfactory. She told me blatant lies over the phone and to my face and tried to claim it was ALL a " misunderstanding ". On the day of the funeral Joanne's and Becky's clothes had seen better days with lots of pulls and material bobbles and snags on the tops they wore. Joanne bent in the boot of the funeral car to pass my sister some of the flowers and revealed a gapping hole at the back of her waise were there used to be a zip !! I did not want to embarrass her on the spot so I said nothing !!!!!!! I would NOT recommend this Funeral Directors if my life depended on it. Please take your dearly departed to an undertaker that will/can treat them with the respect and dignity they deserve.
