Phoned up in distress. No 'listening ear' but the lady recognised I was really upset and booked me a face to face appointment in two days to come and talk things through with someone. No welcoming arrival- they seemed confused I was there. Eventually, a lady took me into a room and asked me what was going on. I explained only a tiny bit of the stressers I was currently under when she just started insisting she had to phone the mental health teams for me. I refused- explained years of involvement with them and they had only ever made things worse. I clearly explained my reasons for not wanting them involved. She refused to do anythign else, kept insisting she refer to them. I understand she may have a legal responsibility to inform a mental health professional if she was concerned about me, but I had clearly explained all the abuses they had caused me and how they had made me worse and that all I wanted was someone to talk to about what I was going through. I explained WHISC was my last chance because everyone else had always just pushed me back to mental health care, who would not listen or provide me any support. She continued to insist I had to go to A+E or she would phone emergency mental health. She told me WHISC would not be available for me but I could 'come back when you feel better'. No support available here, waste of charity money.
