Ordered afternoon tea delivery for a group of 13 for a hen do. The teas were beautifully presented and all tasted great. Was also able to cater for coeliac which was great and tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend and will use again when next in Liverpool!

Had afternoon tea delivered 30th June for my birthday. The man who delivered the food wished me a happy birthday, which was a very nice touch. The food was excellent and plenty of it, sandwiches, pie, quiche, and plenty of cake.would definitely order again.

I am writing to share my disappointment with the services I was provided by Mrs Danvers Caf and the disgust in the way in which I was treated by the owner. I contacted the Caf 26th June to find out some information about booking a delivery for the 1st July. I was hoping to order six boxes of afternoon teas to provide children a special treat as part of a small birthday celebration for my little girl conducted in line with latest PHE and government advice. We have visited the caf before, and the afternoon teas from Mrs Danvers Caf were the birthday girls idea. I was originally intending to shop around despite this as delivery time was the key decision maker for me with the party taking place 1pm 3pm. I was assured that oh dont worry delivery is always out by 1. Satisfied I made the booking and paid for the services. On the day, the children had all arrived by 1pm and I rang the caf just to check in on when we could expect delivery so I could manage expectations. Hungry little girls like to know when they will be fed and knowing when their special treat was coming, I did not want to spring into action to try to put something together. I got through to a lady at the caf who told me that the driver would be with me at 1.44. I remember this very clearly as it seemed an oddly specific number! I presumed taken from a sat nav device perhaps so felt assured. Time went after 2pm I attempted to call the shop again to find it was closed. I felt a little in the lurch at this point a party of children expecting food and me having no idea when or if it would arrive. At 2.30pm the delivery driver made contact to explain he was on the Wirral and now on his way. The food arrived just after 3 when the party had already finished. In one sense this was a blessing as when the food finally did arrive, I would have frankly felt embarrassed passing out it. It was soggy, battered and not to a standard anybody would realistically expect. This was money down the drain for a shoddy service, broken promises, and soggy cakes. Nobody wants that! Embarrassed and frustrated I called the caf and left a voicemail expressing my disappointment. I cooled down and reached out to Mrs Danvers over the following two days multiple times to try to speak to management. When I did finally speak to the manager, I was met with an incredibly harsh and hostile tone: Whats your problem?. As a customer I dont appreciate being spoken to like this at all but you dont know what has happened in a persons day so I gave the benefit of the doubt and explained what had happened and that I would appreciate a refund. I was shouted at aggressively and told that I was a liar. That no member of staff would tell me that the delivery is always out by 1pm and that when I spoke to somebody, they did not tell me it would be delivered at 1.44pm. I was called one of those scam artists and a bully. Unfortunately, not. I was your customer and you let down my daughter and her friends on the first time they had been able to come together since lockdown begun. Based on my experience neither I nor a very upset daughter would recommend Mrs Danvers Caf.
