During the bad weather I was stranded and waved down the owner of this b&b to ask him for directions. He advised me for my own safety to not try to travel back in the snow. He then rang his wife and out of the kindness of both of their hearts they let me stay for the night even though their b&b was not open for guests at the time. The couple were so friendly, welcoming and looked after me ever so well. The room was beautiful, the bed was comfy and the service was great. The view was lovely in a quiet location and the couple did their best to make me feel at home. I had breakfast in the morning which was cooked to perfection and could not recommend this b&b enough! I will definitely be returning in the future. Safety: The couple made me feel very safe during my stay and the area seemed to be just as safe too.

The Hollow is everything it looks like and more, set in a beautiful area 5 min stroll up to Monsal Head, a 1 min stumble back from the Pack horse pub (we ate there two nights, do book a table as small and very popular, outside room is lovely too, The Crispin in the next village looks good too) and a two footpaths 30 seconds from the Hollow gate. Anna served a 5 breakfast with eggs laid that morning, up to 9.30 am, so quiet a lie in was possible. Fresh complimentary homemade available each afternoon as we returned from our day out. Our room (3) was lovely, with a beautiful view. The fridge had fresh milk and bottled water. there was an electric fan and heater so when sitting in the comfy chairs reading the supply of up to date magazines, there was nothing else needed. Even a tray with two wine glasses for pre dinner drinks or a fresh coffee from the pod machine on the landing. Anna and Ian were lovely to chat to and it was great to share a few days in their lovely home. Would defiantly book again and if you're looking to stay near Chatsworth, Bakewell, Thornbridge Hall area book now as very good value for money.
