We recently used Unit One to deliver and install a heavy picture which was done promptly and efficiently. No complaints there. Do NOT use them to install, though! The technicians disregarded our instructions as to what height the picture was to be hung, and it ended up being much too low. They also managed to damage the paintwork quite badly during the install. Deferring to their expertise, we didnt ask them to re-hang the picture, and we accepted what theyd done. This was our mistake, but they were on an hourly rate, and we were keen not to incur further costs. The second issue arose much later, when we ended up rehanging the picture ourselves. We discovered a huge hole in the plaster, which the technicians had made. What has surprised us most is the rudeness weve encountered. We politely challenged both the incorrect placement, and the damage caused. Far from apologising, both the general manager and the owner of the company have doubled down. Apparently the damage is entirely our fault. Our motives and honesty have also been called into question. According to the owner (who was not present at the install), we couldnt stop talking about how delighted we were with the hang, so its all very suspicious that we raised an issue afterwards. His assertion is simply not true. Ive been gobsmacked by the lack of customer service displayed here. A shining example of how NOT to look after your customers, and how to escalate a very minor point of feedback into a major disagreement. All we were looking for was an apology. And what we had instead was an extraordinarily arrogant, tone-deaf response from all levels of the company. AVOID!
