Ive been coming here for over 5 years now, for walks, photography, canoeing and running. It's one of the most peaceful places to visit, maybe less so on busy summer days but even then it's totally worth coming here.
You can choose to take the scenic way left towards the center of Bourne end which will take you through the Bourne end marina. Or go right, taking the peaceful but equally as scenic way, which could take you all the way to Marlow (fantastic route for a run). Either way you go you will not be disappointed.
In terms of canoeing or other water sports, I found that others doing the same are very respectful and friendly. Many times I've had conversations whilst paddling around.
