A beautiful, traditional, picture card inn. Friendly, welcoming staff, a great variety of drinks, well presented, delicious food and lovely comfortable bedroom. We will certainly be returning.

Disappointing. Was expecting a classic English country pub with a warm welcome. Instead, the experience was of a restaurant making a minor concession to still having the identity of a pub. It is a wonderful building with great potential, however, the focus was very much on dining. If you want to go somewhere and have a good meal at a decent price then it is a good option but it is not really a pub. There were four ale pumps but only one ale was on, and that was a rather drab pint of Butty Batch. The ambience was strangely hushed, maybe even cliquish. The person behind the bar exuded ennui. We waited so long to get served for our second round that we gave up and went home.

Food here is absolutely gorgeous - had the vegan mushroom and cashew nut wellington with all the trimmings and a tiramisu cheesecake for afters. Absolutely delicious would definitely recommend
