I have had the privilege and honour of working in the best care/nursing home. The staff in every department of the home have worked through challenging and unprecedented times due to the pandemic. Our residents are our absolute top priority. Our staff dont just come to work, they come to a home! A home where staff pride themselves on their training, competence and confidence to deliver the best standards of care and support. We live in a multicultural society and variety and changeability is key to adapting and ensuing unique person centered care. Our home is run and managed by an amazing manager who has an amazing team. Every single department has its own heros. Employees are respected equally and professionally and this makes us not colleagues but a work family! Family is key and this is demonstrated by our courtesy and respect that is shown to every single person and their relative or friend or visiting professional that comes to Blenheim court. Our residents and their opinions are valued, listened to and actioned. We have a positive can do attitude in the home and want to make the impossible possible! Thank you Everyone at Blenheim Court. Keep Making little miracles happen.

Our mother has been a resident at Blenheim Court for the last 20 months. Initially family and friends could visit her without any pre-arrangement. All who visited were impressed with the care and facilities on offer. The pandemic caused huge changes and restrictions for us all. As a family we are so grateful that mum has been kept safe, provided with some entertainment and activities and still have the opportunity to have her hair and nails done. Obviously the management has to abide by Government guidelines but as soon as was possible garden visits could be arranged and later, with appropriate testing, indoor visits and take out visits have been possible. Mum always speaks highly of the care staff and says they administer personal care with the utmost discretion and respect her dignity. After a recent fall the staff are working hard to restore her confidence and encourage her not to spend too much time in her room. Things are not always perfect and nothing will ever replace the life that once was. But we have faith and confidence that we can trust all staff to provide care and a family atmosphere especially whilst normal access is limited.

I would not recommend Blenheim to my worst enemy. We have recently, along with several other families, moved my Nan from this diabolical home to Bramshott Grange Care Home which is part of the dormy care group , which is far better and much more organised. The care ratios at Blenheim appeared to be dangerous at times and staff constantly are blaming the fact there is no staff available to work resulting in them constantly saying they were "short staffed" . My nan was on a care floor (where worryingly dementia residents were also living) where often a member of staff couldn't even be found. Luckily her needs are relatively low, but if she had dementia or high needs, habing no member of staff would be dangerous . While the ratios were allegedly kept them at the legal minimum (or at least we hope they were operating legally) , it was a far cry from the luxury price point they charge. During the lockdown, things were so bad for my nan, she asked to just be taken out of her room for a 15 minute walk on the garden as the heat inside was unbearable and residents werent allowed out, and they couldn't even manage that. She also caught covid in the home which she was lucky to survive and they seemed to struggle to contain that. Several falls, and a broken wrist later, it was time to say good bye to this shambles of a home. At times, the food was so poor I wouldn't give to my dog. The manager is shocking, the care staff are simply underpaid, overworked and under appreciated, meaning the residents suffer waiting for hours on end to get help with even the very basic of things such as dressing or washing. The staff do not appear well trained in things such as Doors to the premises are constantly left opem, meaning anyone can waltz into the car floor easily (great when they also have the doors open for most residents rooms) one day when I was in there a man came for a look with his dog, and when i asked why he was there he said he was just being nosy! When i mentiomed this to the staff they laughed about it. I also found a packet of prescription tablets on the floor in the halls that had been dropped by the dispenser, and could have easily been collected by a vulnerable resident. But the staff didn't seem particularly bothered by that either. Finally, the manager floats around the home with her yappy dog in tow, which she allows in and out of resident's rooms. We are dog people, but my nan is not particularly fond of dogs, and i was horrified that when i was in the room, thr manager wandered into my nans room and allowed her dog to jump onto my nans bed!! My nan was horrified. It was so unbelievably unprofessional that in a care environment (which was also battling a global pandemic) she thought it acceptable for her dog to be jumping onto resident's. On top of that, my nan had a wound on her leg that wouldn't heal, and was constantly batting away the dog from trying to lick her damaged legs! Just absolutely shocking. While the care staff are friendly, this has such poor leadership at the helm, it is a diabolocal mess of an establishment and caring homes group should be ashamed of the situation. They are leaving the staff so short or support and so poorly paid the care levels are simply not acceptable and verge on in humane (all while charging 1600 per week). A perfect example is they moved my nan to a different room, her wardrobe didnt open due to a poorly fitted curtain rail and it took over a week for someone to fix it. In the meantime she was frequently left in her nightgown until late afternoon as she was unable to retrieve her own clothing. She would ring a bell, and often wait for hours for someone to help as they were so short staffed. Now they are trying to hold onto her money and are failing to respond to family emails (maybe because they owe my nan thousands of pounds!) I beg of anyone considering this home, to go elsewhere as it is the worst care environment I have ever seen. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
