Never actually had issues... Until I had. During the course of about a year I have been charged 5 times trying to solve an issue with my car: 2 to try to repair the problem plus 3 more times to actually diagnose it. After that I have been told they want to charge a way larger bill (only half of it actually being parts) to actually solve the issue, after all the charges done so far. To make things worse, quotations to fix the issues so far led to places that charge at least 40% less to fix the same issue.

I took my vehicle to Station Garage Liphook for an MOT. They failed the vehicle for several issues including all four replacement brake pads & discs and front lower control arms amongst other items. The following day I took the vehicle to another independent and reputable garage in the area who were instructed to do all of the work required (at significant expense). I was very surprised when that other garage telephoned me to tell me that the only item which actually needed doing was replacement of two brake pads which were on the low side all of the other issues were certainly not MOT failures and they could not honestly do the work because the parts were not defective and had plenty of life left in them. Clearly the other garage had no reason to not do the work (and were financially disincentivised from not going ahead when I had already approved everything and they had already ordered the parts in). I queried the different report between the two garages (because of course I did not wish to have a vehicle that was not safe) and the honest garage (which also does MOTs) confirmed that they had their tester and another experienced mechanic look at the vehicle to confirm that the works were not required and to do them would have been taking advantage of me. My experience of Station Garage in Liphook was therefore a waste of time, a wasted MOT fee (which notably they have not offered to refund me) and very nearly a bill for over 1,000 for work to replace parts which did not need replacing. I am therefore very glad that I took the vehicle to a different garage to undertake the repairs. Only my experience and only the facts of the matter are presented here take from it what you will and draw from it your own conclusions - perhaps this was bad luck or a bad day for the testing mechanic (in which case the offer to refund the MOT fee and a goodwill gesture to account for my wasted afternoon would have been appreciated). Personally, I wont be going back though the experience has led me to a different Garage in Liphook who are honest and friendly. Service: Vehicle safety inspection
