We stayed here for 2 nights in the self catering apartment, as we were visiting Allerton castle and York. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were spotlessly clean. Tea, coffee and sugar was provided. There is a shop down the road, if you need bread, milk a paper ect. There is a local bus that goes to York. But it isn't very frequent in a Saturday and doesn't run at all on a Sunday. But we're going home then anyway. There is a pub down the road. The college arms. But it doesn't serve food yet. As it only opened back up in March. But there is a lovely pub beside the canal that serves home cooked food n its delicious and not overly priced. I would definitely stay here again if visiting the area. Thank you

Booked a studio last minute , hosts were extremely helpful with booking and also during our 2 night stay . Provided us with lots of local info which was very useful . Studio was exactly what we were looking for , very clean with everything you needed for self catering . The gardens were beautiful with plentiful seating @ tables to enjoy the lovely weather . Location of property is easy to find in a peaceful , quaint village setting but still close enough to travel further afield . Excellent base for reaching a lot of places but with peace and quiet when you need it .

A truly lovely place to stay! We enjoyed a wonderful 2 nights in the Luxury room, exactly the type of room I wanted when staying in York, and at a reasonable price. The amenities were great, thoughtful touches like a guest station on the landing with a fridge holding milk for tea and bottled water, as well as shelves full of extra towels and toilet roll. The breakfast room was unique and quite the most stunning one I've seen in a b&b! We will be looking to stay here whenever we're in the area! Located about 25 minutes' drive outside the city with pretty regular buses and a few local pubs. It's convenient and quiet. We highly recommend The Mended Drum for dinner. It's about 20 minutes west and worth it! Book Ahead!
