Called in today because i thought my eyesight had deteriorated but was reassured by Hannah that was not the case myy specs needed adjusting Emma went to so much trouble to sort things out. If you are looking for an Optician that really cares Dixons is the place to go.

Hi I have e attended eye tests for the last three years. After being diagnosed withA.M.D. 5 years ago. My last eye test with Dixons diagnosed my A M D had worsened I had known myself that it had deteriorated. Therefore I was told that glasses would not improve my sight.I am registered partly sighted and wanted to know if there is alternative help available which there are but very very expensive. So I inquired to my g p if I can register severely sighted my GP told me I would need a letter from my optician to say that we can no longer help with my eyesight this would let the G P refer me to a consultant. I rang my optician he said cant do that because I am not severely sighted I asked can you tell me the criteria to define visual impairment to severely sighted,he said because you could see one large letter on the sight chart.I suggested that cannot be the only model to define severely sighted. He indicated that he could refer me to a consultant if I wanted to go private I was mildly annoyed to think he wont write a letter to my GP but he could refer me privately.Hence I am left in Limbo

Went in late afternoon, not realising they closed at 5 and not 6 like the other high street shops. I had had a glasses emergency and needed a new pair as well as an eye test, the lady at the front desk booked me in for an appointment 10 mins later, i was seen by a really helpful optician, who listened to me and helped me to get the prescription i needed in a timely and professional manner. At this point it was 40 mins till closing, but the team downstairs helped me in picking frames (especially as i am a very indecisive person!), sorted the lenses there and then and i had a new pair of glasses and lenses 10 mins before closing. A massive thanks to the team, who were all lovely and helpful and would recommend this optician to anyone who asked me where i got my specs from !
