Clear View Opticians

Whilst on Facebook I noticed something distinctive in a friends recent photo of her granddaughter. She exhibited a white pupil and slight turn in that eye. This can sometimes be a sign of a childhood cancer called retinoblastoma. As I now live abroad I enquired which local Optometrists were open during the COVID lockdown but unfortunately none where, so I reached out to Annabelle Mcgee at Clearview in Lincoln. This was a 30 mile drive for my friend but Annabelle was very happy to arrange an emergency consultation very quickly. Luckily it wasnt anything life-threatening and Annabelle was able to prescribe appropriate treatment for the eye turn. I cant thank Annabelle enough for being there through this difficult period.

The optometrist himself was brilliant (hence the 2 stars). The only issue was with the receptionists and opticians. I was falsely told that clear view would specialise in learning disabilities and so went in confident that I wouldnt face ableism. Unfortunately they were incredibly rude and impatient with me and were much harsher in tone than they should have been when I asked them to repeat certain things because of my disability. I am not one to write bad reviews and as a consequence this interaction happened months ago - but I wont be treated like I am stupid or made to be felt like a burden. And, I was willing to pay more for the experience of having a specialist when really I paid more to experience maliciousness from the opticians. Absolutely shocking customer service and will definitely not be coming back. (This was at the Eastgate store)

Wonderful service once again from Annabel and her staff, most attentive and helpful. Choosing my glasses was a pleasure. Highly recommended.

Great eye test experience. Each test was explained to our young children in easy to understand terms putting their mind at ease. Highly recommend!
