My father has been resident at Grosvenor for the last two years and the level of care provided has been of the highest standard throughout that time. The staff are to be applauded for their extremely high level of dedication and commitment at all times.

A friend worked there and said it was the worst place she had ever worked. She was so upset by the treatment of patients including windows being left open over the winter, staff gossiping about patients in the office and being left in their own fecal matter for hours on end. She stated how the management were never there and left training to lower members of staff which was difficult for new staff and apprentices as they didn't really learn anything and were left in the dark. It was the final straw for my friend when she hadn't been paid her wages and left. She still hasn't received payment to this day.

Following a series of strokes, falls, fractures and infections, my 85-year-old Mum was sent to Grosvenor Hall by the County Hospital in 2015, and lived there until until her death in 2016. On the whole, her experience was positive. She liked the beauty of this converted mansion, and especially the tranquillity of the former chapel that serves as its upstairs day-room. Her bedroom was rather small and lacked an en-suite bathroom, but I was allowed to make it a bit more homely for her with a DVD player and a collection of her favourite operas. She appreciated Grosvenor Hall's varied menu of meals, snacks and drinks. The care that was given to her seemed to be always professional and kind. There were a handful of occasions when I got the impression that the Hall could have done with another one or two pairs of hands, but I've no doubt that my Mum was safer, cleaner, better fed and better nursed in this facility than when I was looking after her myself. She and I both counted ourselves lucky that Grosvenor Hall was there for her in the last eighteen months of her life.
