I don't like posting negative reviews but felt quite strongly about the lack of customer service at Beau Gems. I have dropped a torn neck chain for repairs and was told it will be lasered together and that a defect will remain. I was also told it will cost 50 and it will take 9 days. I was happy with these "conditions" and left the chain for repairs. Two weeks have elapsed and I got a call asking to pop down to the store. Apparently the lab were concerned that following lasering the defect will be significant (the chain is quite thin and consists of mini structures) and sent the chain back to store in order to check with me if I was comfortable to proceed on that basis. I have questioned why I was asked the same question again (I already said yes to a defect following repairs) but I was told that "no matter what defect the chain comes back with" I would have to accept it. I said that I am not quite sure why it took 10 days for me to be asked the same question (also the lab could have called me on any day directly) and phrasing it like "no matter what defect the chain comes back with" sounds like the lab were not comfortable undertaking the repair and were expecting to produce a shoddy job. After pointing this out I was "spoken down to" (e.g. "dont worry about it, maybe you do not want to leave your chain here") which made me really uncomfortable and I took the chain and left. I had the chain lasered at another jeweller store for 30 over 48 hrs period (and if anything I was expecting to have a bigger defect that I got). Please don't treat your customers like idiots when you are unable to provide good quality customer service.
