My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights in the Owl Tree Temple. It was a very relaxing experience and a great place for couples and friends to enjoy a few nights away. The food available on site was delicious, with several of the fresh ingredients grown in their own garden. The checking in and out process is very simple. You're free to roam the grounds and enjoy the lake. We're looking forward to visiting again.

This is our second time here, our first was a family visit during the Christmas period. We stayed in one of the treehouses back then which had an en suite bathroom and kitchen, so we utilised the space and cooked our Christmas dinner in the kitchen, having come prepared. This time around we visited in summer during the heatwave, and we were really excited to see how the space had been transformed and expanded to include a pool and alternative accommodation styles. We didnt have en suite this time as we stayed in a yurt, but the shared bathrooms were really impressive anyway - there was always one available whenever we needed to use one and they were super clean, the water was hot and pressure fine too. I was even pleasantly surprised to find that one of the bathrooms had a tub! We also utilised the communal barbecues alongside some other groups, and we used the basic outdoor kitchen to cook our eggs in the morning as we had come prepared this time around too. We also used the pool on our second day and on our day of departure which is what really made our stay - the pool is beautifully designed to make you feel as though youre somewhere more holiday-esque in Europe. We really had a wonderful time, the only things that brought the quality of our trip down were that the food choices didnt suit our needs (we were under the impression that there would be wholesome, plant-based, organic, clean food on offer but it was really basic, pub/cafe style basic food, and). The only pub offering a variety of vegan and veggie options had run out of all their vegan and veggie options by Sunday lunchtime already. The kitchen we were using seemed to share equipment with the actual cafe on site too - so there were often items we had to dig around for like chopping boards and knives, utensils, etc - and by lunchtime on our second day, there was a swarm of wasps due to the bin bags that had been left out so it was quite difficult to use the outdoor kitchen. It was a little overcrowded in the pool when the yoga retreats finished for the day, and just that ofcourse being in a wild space (perhaps it was more the location of our particular yurt aswell - Thatchers), that there was an incredibly loud symphony of birds and other animals every morning from around 4-6am - but perhaps others wouldnt mind this so much given the experience of being in a yurt and outdoors. Despite those minor inconveniences, we loved our stay and are already planning a third visit! Thank you team WL, see you soon! :-)
