I always come here to get twists done, all the staff are super friendly and the shop is tidy. Most Caribbean owned hairdressers tend to be a bit unprofessional. Either theyre speaking loudly on the phone whilst doing your hair, or they severely overbook themselves, or people are eating strong scented foods in the shop but I have only experienced professionalism and love here. Caron is really setting the bar for the standard that we should expect from similar businesses and I am afraid of going to any other hairdresser now. Turning up on time for your appointment to have your hairdresser waiting for you is sadly normally considered a luxury but here it is normal. One of her employees called Dez is the one who does my hair most often and she is absolutely lovely. She seems to specialise in twists and blitzes through my hair like an absolute machine. My bushy hair is past my shoulders but it doesnt faze her. Other inexperienced hairdressers can take over 4 hours to do my hair whilst she is done in 2. She is always super apologetic and always consults me about the products that shes using in my hair because of my lifestyle choices (E.g. avoiding beeswax). She also doesnt blow dry my hair because I dont want her to, even though other hairdressers have been adamant about blow drying it to make life easier for them, at the expense of my hairs health. Caron, the owner, is also an amazing hairdresser which has given me beautiful canerows before. I can actually sleep on my head after an appointment with her, without feeling my scalp is bleeding. I always get many compliments and the hair stays neat for a good amount of time. Seriously, you have to visit this hidden gem in Lewisham. The salon is almost as beautiful as the people inside and their gossip is always entertaining and not inappropriate as some of these salons can be. Ive been going here for years and Im sorry for not leaving a review sooner.
