Last Outpost

I wanted to give this place a chance and would return if I knew certain things had changed. We were one of two tables. The wait for drinks and food was much too long. The food was okay but certainly not worth the price - curry deal, chicken schnitzel, steak sandwich and fish and chips. The cocktails were bogof but not well made at all. There is potential, with a lot of changes to be made, a smaller menu and a social media presence.

I had a pretty great experience here the first time, about 2 weeks ago. But this time was a different story, and I strongly believe there has been a change in chefs (At least, I visually confirmed that it was a different chef cooking today.) Putting aside the extremely slow service (40-60 mins for a burger), missing utensils and no water refills, the taste has changed. The samosas, wings and outpost burger were great the first time. This time the samosas were great again, but the burger was quite disappointing. The burger was literally halved, and tasted more store bought compared the magnificent one I had 2 weeks back. Everything from the bun to the onion rings was a downgrade. I didnt intend to spend so long waiting for a simple burger when the place was 1/3 full.

Had an amazing roast dinner today with my family , portions are big and lots of vegetables, very generous with the meat also. Service was fantastic and attentive. This is a hidden gem and will certainly be back for the roast and to try the Indian / Caribbean cuisine Kid-friendliness: Perfect for children , also a lovely outside eating area , perfect for the summer
