A wonderful collection of books, I could have taken half the shop home with me! A lovely warm atmosphere with a friendly, knowledgeable owner. I could have happily browsed for hours. If only I could pick it up and place it in Exeter for easier access to me!

A delightful traditional bookshop with an excellent Bloomsbury collection. Perfect high-street location. Knowledgeable and helpful owners.

Great bookshop in Lewes with a curated selection of interesting books covering travel, topography, history, poetry etc. All books in very good condition.

Looked online and saw two books I wanted. I phoned the shop and they put them aside for me. I went to the shop, examined the books and bought them. All simple and straightforward.

Visited the shop today and was met with the most unfriendly welcome that I have experienced in a shop. I agree with the other comments, which have had similar experiences. Upon entering the shop, I was asked to wear a mask, which at the time of writing is no longer mandated, and I turned around to leave the shop. The shop worker/owner asked as to why I wanted to leave the shop and I replied that it is his prerogative to ask customers to wear a mask as it was their property. He said that this was happening all the time, which may be a reflection of his very poor customer care skills. I believe it is everyone's right to request mask-wearing on their property, as it is mine to take my custom elsewhere. I understand that many retail businesses are struggling. However, this person is unlikely to succeed in business by heavily overcharging for his merchandise and seriously lacking in customer care. Good riddance.
