Honestly quite discussed with the whole hospital in general! Don't get me wrong, there are some very nice staff and they really are incredible.. (Ward 12) was amazing and the staff on that ward were very friendly apart from a couple of staff members. My partner is currently at hospital and I've been with him every step of the way and I'm quite shocked how some staff treat patients and there information. Hand overs are in corridors and you hear patients information and you even hear staff members talk about people and moan about them. After talking to many nurses that work on the hospital they all say the same thing, lack of communication and things get missed or forgotten. (We experienced this through out the time we both spent in hospital) Some nurses have made comments that are not professional and affected some of the other patients while their stay here. Catering staff that push the food trolleys to the wards are very set in their own way and they don't give right of way to any patient in a wheelchair. (We experienced every day) over the five days being here. Doctors only run a small amount of tests to rule out the big things but don't want to put you through others even when your in so much pain. They try and push you out of that door back home. We have experience problems with medication not being given at the right times or not giving all the tablets that were prescribed. (We experienced this) I know people are I'll and I understand it's not a hotel but people with "Mental Health" disabilities and conditions would struggle with this hospital. Due to not having any sitting rooms that are of any use. No entertainment.. ie games, books, TVs, or anything to keep people occupied while staying in hospital. I've experienced quite alot of staff get very rude and funny when you get on with other members of staff that are actually nurses. I've seen care assistants be rude to nurses and I've experienced alot of bullying in this hospital with staff and gossiping about each other to other staff members while being on shift/ward. It's very uncomfortable to watch and listen. When we first came in through A&E we saw so much stuff that shouldn't of happened One dementia patient was having a very tough time coping being in a hospital bed.. some members of staff were treating her in the hallway where everyone could see what she was wearing. They did not think about this patient dignity and we saw things that we should of never saw. Like this ladies pad. We felt so sorry for this woman. Also because I'm a trans women I had two-day members of staff on (ward 11) give me dirty looks because I was trans. Even though I feel alot of staff around the hospital had the same look at me too. I'm definitely reporting all this to CQC and any other organisation that I believe needs to be involved. But even though we experienced so much negative staff and experience. I would like to thank all those who smiled at me when being here and those who have helped my partner and myself around the hospital as their are many amazing staff members and I can't thank them enough. Ward 12 was the best ward we stayed on and they did allow me to stay with my partner due to being a vulnerable adult. I am so glad they let me but watching this behaviour has left me upset watching people get treat like this.. and it's not right. I don't know what my reports will do.. as I'm sure the system is clicky but at least I tired.
