One of the carers was wonderful but the rest made Dad feel like an inconvienience when he rang the bell. He was told several times he rang too much, despite him being blind and much rediced mobility - eg if he needed a drink he needed to ring for help as he cant see the cup etc! The TV never worked despite them saying multiple times theyd fix it they never did. He was admitted to hospital where he stayed for 8 weeks - not once did anyone from the old vic ring him or us to see how he was. When he was well enough to be discharged they said they couldnt have him back but they charged us for every week he was in hospital. Felt like a very cut throat business and not very caring sadly. Often stood outside waiting in bitter cold for someone to let us in to visit, often waiting 15mins or more as they frequently wasnt a receptionist. Dad often waited 15-30 mins to have his bell answered and as a result frequently had accidents as he couldnt wait that long. He was told off by carers for this. Sadly we couldnt recommend. Moved elsewhere after his hospital visit and was treated so much better and in a much warmer atmosphere. The grounds at the old vic are loveky however, his room was nice and we liked the dining room very much, it was just the carers and management that just seemed very uncaring :/
