Nationwide Building Society

My husband can't access his money as he works full time and Leigh branch does not open on Saturday. The response is that the priority is to keep staff safe during covid but this makes no sense as every other branch ie Wigan and Bolton open so that is not an acceptable excuse. P.S. he cannot use your ATM machines with a passbook can he?

Looks like me and my partner are having to find someone else to bank after 16 years I have had my account. Nationwide constantly message me junk to my email .but can't inform me that the bank less then a mile from my home is closed for foreseeable future and have to take a trip to see a tiny note on the doors .

I understand they have had problems due to covid so have had to temporarily close, but I think it's really out of order when they don't update the website opening times. It says they are open when they are not. I have had 3 wasted trips into town - website said open but shop closed. Come on Nationwide, it takes only a few seconds to keep your opening times up to date so that your customers know what is happening and aren't messed about.

It's a joke.. Once upon a time it used to open on a Saturday now it doesn't. They closed it due to covid but never bothered to re open it when things calmed down. If you have a savings account and do need access to your money it's a pain in the arse trip to Bolton I'm afraid,feel sorry for those who can't drive enjoy the bus. Now things are worse it's only open Thursday and Fridays,come on nationwide buck your ideas up not a very good service for your local members think accounts going to be moved if it doesn't change stars are for friendly staff .. when you eventually get in there...update since I posted this they've now decided to open on a Monday....in answer to the reply I received below i understand that measures have to be taken in these difficult times and admire nationwide for looking after it's staff but can they explain what makes them so different as other banking establishments in leigh manage to open 5 days a week and also on a Saturday as do all the other retailers do in leigh don't suppose they'll answer that one maybe they are trying to save money by not opening branches as much at the expense of their members satisfaction
