When we bought our home 10 years ago, the east/south-east facing conservatory was a major draw. We quickly came to realise that it was only properly usable for a couple of months of the year because of the intensity of the heat for most of the day, so to date the conservatory has been pretty much used only as a dumping ground. This year, after 12 months of working from home and getting under each other's feet and desperately needing more living space, we had Coolkote roof film and Bronze 35 window film fitted. It has been a revelation! Ok so we haven't experienced too much hot weather yet this year but it is already apparent that the film cuts out the heat and the UV rays significantly. I wish we had done it years ago. The conservatory has now been transformed into a music/social room and we are actually USING it! One big tip to anyone reading this - if you are not particularly handy then don't even bother trying to fit the film yourself. The blurb on the website claims it is easy to apply - it is seriously anything but. We tried to install just a single film ourselves and it nearly ended in divorce. Although it seems that Abode no longer offer a fitting service, they do give you a couple of names of tradespersons if you ask. We opted for Dan Pearce and the man is a wizard! He came to measure up, offered to order and take delivery of the products, ensured we were kept in the loop the whole time with emails and phone calls and within 10 days he came back and fitted out the whole conservatory in less than half a day. So thank you Abode and thank you Dan. You have given us 120 sq feet of living space. I cannot recommend you too highly. Service: Heat control window films
