SmartDry Ltd | Damp Control

Im 2014 I had this company fit one of their damp courses. I still have damp. I have attempted to contact them however they are ignoring me.

Do not use this company - or any other selling plastic ventilation bricks to resolve damp issues, they do not work. The Smart Dry engineer was courteous. He was responsive to my calls when I wanted to talk through issues about my house. He did not bamboozle me with science nor put me under any pressure to sign up for his product. I liked the concept of using dry bricks rather than injecting chemicals into the house, I felt it was a greener option than the other products available and it also offers a lifetime guarantee. I worried that it would be the most expensive option, but actually it turned out to be slightly cheaper than the other 2 estimates for conventional damp proofing that I took. The engineer was very conscious of the mess that inserting the bricks can create, he damped down the dust with water as he was working and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards. However one year later my house is wetter than it was before. The life time guarantee is not underpinned by insurance and therefore not worth the paper it is written on. The one phone number available has an answer machine response advising you to email. No one has responded to my email. The engineer was the most genuine seeming of the 3 people who gave me estimates. I have been thoroughly duped, to the tune of 1,500. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, it is duplicitous!

Came out, did the job but it clearly did not work as the damp issues worsened after their visit. For over a year now I have been trying to get them back out and agree a plan of action (they offer a lifetime warranty) but my calls are ignored and I cannot get hold of anyone. Considering the fact that the property is occupied by a family with two young kids, they don't seem to give a monkeys! Absolutely shambles. Do not use them if you can help it...

I had the system installed for my 72 year old mother. The damp has returned and new damp patches have developed. The mortar where the system is installed has developed cracks. The after care service is poor, they try and fob you off with some worthless meter readings saying its improved. THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS, IN FACT ITS GOT WORSE! Just started court proceedings against the company. They are now saying the LIFETIME GUARENTEE is only valid for 13 months. BE VERY CAFEFUL - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
