Terrible customer service.veey sad for the local village post office. A simple return that was able to be carried out at another post office 10monutes later. All it was here was 'computer says no'. Sadly won't be using my local again and continue going to the further away one.

We went to Groby post office this morning to apply for a passport. The lady there was fantastic so helpful and friendly. She patiently helped us complete our application and advised us what to do next. I can't recommend them enough.

I always like to use local services where I can however I have had two very poor experiences here when trying to renew driving license and passport. On the first occasion they were unable to figure out how to take a photo with their equipment. The second occasion I thought Id try them again for a passport photo. On arrival I was advised that their photo equipment wasnt working well but advised that they could take a photo with their iPads/ tablet and do my application for me but to do this I would need the passport. They were aware it was a childs passport renewal so I asked if I needed any other supporting documents. Was advised I only needed contact details of someone to validate photos. I went home and arrived back after a wait it took two of the staff to take the photo, I was then handed the iPad/ tablet and advised to do rest of application myself. Was happy to do this although there was no where suitable to stand/ sit to fill this in and when I asked questions about the application they were unable to answer. I then got to the part where it asked for both parents passport details. Unfortunately I didnt have either parent passport details as I had been advised I didnt need any further documents/ information. They seemed surprised I needed this information and after initially suggesting I went home again to get these documents then proceeded to offer me a paper application which was pointless if they didnt have ability to take the required photos. This whole process took over an hour and I left no further forward and having to go to a nearby village post office. For people to be able to support and use their village post office the staff should have adequate training on how to use the equipment and also how to provide services such as passport applications that is a service they advertise that they offer but seemed clueless on what was required. I hope the management take this information and ensure all their staff are trained and supported to provide the services that they offer.
