Had a new kitchen sink and tap a few months ago now and I'm just getting over the experience which was shambolic to say the least. The boss came out initially to measure up but when the poor plumber came to fit it, we discovered that all the measurements were wrong. He'd already taken out my old sink etc, so was left without one for a week. After waiting for replacement sink to come, we found that tap wouldn't fit! Eventually after much communicating on my part (had to chase them up every time!)and some temporary taps the job was completed. In all that time neither the boss or his daughter apologised or made any attempt to offer helpful solutions during the ordeal. I would never recommend Farthings to anyone, and have heard that Mr farthing is still making similar mistakes with other customers. The plumber James however was excellent, polite, courteous, a good communicater and did a neat and tidy job. Service: Faucet installation

Read what they did to elderly parents My father who has dementia and my 87 year old mother made the mistake of using this company. They chose it because it was a local Family firm. They sold them a boiler, 2,500 inc install. The day he installed was the day he realised he hadnt took any measurements and the boiler was bigger than the space. Lesson 1, failure to get a tape measure out. Oops, never mind, he found another space, upstairs. Problem was, hed already ripped the old boiler out and made a huge mess in their kitchen. Not to worry, they will put it right. After all, it was their failure to measure that caused the damage. After many many calls on behalf of my elderly parents, always being told Pauls out at a Emergency/funeral/meeting/off today they have wrote to my parents. Demanding money for payment. They have told them that if they want them to do the repair they caused they need to pay for it. Im writing to the council as this is disgusting behaviour. They charged top price for a service that wrecked my parents kitchen. No apologys, no explanation as to why they didnt measure the space before ordering the new boiler. And to Mandy, thanks for letting me know Paul will call, he didnt. You must be proud to work for Paul, hes full of care and concern. To finish, my parents of course will pay, they are of that generation. My brother will repair the damage they have lived with for months. My father can settle, dementia doesnt like change, his anxiety over the damage to the kitchen can subside and Farthings Plumbing and Heating, local family firm, can collapse due to lack of care. For anyone thinking of using them beware. They may wreck you home, they will then make you pay for it. Sounds strange to me, as my friend suggested, wouldnt it be awful if they made the damage on purpose to get more money out of the elderly to repair. Food for thought

Having had a safety concern with our gas hob - we needed to have a gas hob that would cut off the gas if the flame went out. Within a week of getting a quotation from Farthings and a replacement safety hob and installed by Ryan. I was completely satisfied with the quality and service given to us. Farthing Plumbers are a well established company going back many years I would highly recommend the company THANK YOU FARTHINGS the PLUMBERS
