Embassy Driveways

Embassy driveways installed a new driveway and replacement fencing for me in early April. Whilst the standard of work is good, I'm not satisfied with the job they have done as although I specified a 3.3m wide driveway, with the fence to be built further back into the side garden, I have ended up with a 2.55m wide space, about the same as a supermarket parking space, and the fence has been built in the original position (albeit with a planned visibility splay), I believe because of an inspection cover around the area of the gate that I had already pointed out to them at time of quoting. I was only made aware of the altered fence position on the second morning by a phone call, (after the majority of the excavations had already been dug for the fence as I realised later), reassuring me that it would not make much difference to the size of the parking space - I'd say 75cm is a big difference. I certainly regret not looking further into it now. After living with it for a week or so I contacted the company with my complaint and offered them a way to make the driveway less cramped by extending it for 30cm on the other side, but despite the mess up they wouldn't do it without me paying more on top for materials, which I don't accept, as I've already paid for a 3.3m drive. Lastly, be aware that they quoted me exclusive of VAT but never made this clear, making for an unpleasant surprise when it was time to pay. Let the buyer beware! Highly impressed with the work carried out by Joseph and his team. The work was completed in three-and-a-half days, with the previously driveway completely removed and taken away. The new driveway was completed to a high standard and everything has been left looking neat and tidy. I was updated regularly on how the work was progressing both when at and away from home.
