Portland House Residential Care Home

I just want to put out there that this care home is an amazing place to work,staff are lovely and the residents are very much spoilt and loved by us all! Everyone gets along so well we are all like a big family! Management are extremely productive and professional and on top of any little thing always ensuring that staff are okay and putting their needs first,I want to give a massive shoutout to Rebecca and Rachel for supporting the whole of Portland House staff team,we appreciate everything you do not only for the residents but the staff too. This is not only a care home but this really is a family place. Portland House really is my second home and I would love to thank everyone to have made my first job such an amazing part of my life

Staffs are very good and polite, even though its my first working day in this care home they explained and treated very good. Highly recommend

I used to previously work at Portland house in 2019, amazing place to work back then. I came back in 2022 and I still cant believe how much the place has changed. Staff are spoken to by deputy manager in an inhumane way. Senior caregivers some of them have not got a clue what they are doing when handling medication. Residents have no proper activities provided because of their budget manager who was wrongfully dismissed from the company due to reports but reports wasnt about this person. Signatures on mar charts and audits are forged by deputy manager herself also. Weekly weights for residents who need them was falsely inputted by senior on duty and I was there to witness it. Deputy manager has no qualifications to be running a home with elderly residents and lacks the compassion you need also to run a home. Deputy manager Rebecca clearly makes it known which staff are her favourite and this ends up in a little pact of bullies who bully other staff members. Aggressive behaviour towards another resident. Snatching this ladies bag off her which resulted in this lady being very upset and quite after. The lack of compassion in this work place is dreadful and quite frankly shameful. Senior was aloud to continue after overdosing 2 residents. Deputy manager has been witnessed on occasions taking medication pods home as senior has forgotten to give them but signed to say she did.
