        Have been using this garage for years as finding an honest skilled test centre you trust is difficult. However today i had to MOT our Ford Focus. My wife had the pleasure of taking our car for the yearly test. It failed on a lower ball joint. No problem I thought. My wife was tricked into a whole new wishbone (not needed) as the tester/mechanic said they only come made this way. As we all know lower ball joints can be bought as a single unit with 3 bolts for less than 20 + labour of about 30 mins. So my wife was alone and vunerable as not knowing the difference between a spanner and screwdriver and believed the complete wishbone was required RF65HTY. Check out gov mot checker. It failed on lower ball joint only. So having handed over 200 for the MOT i feel cheated and ripped off. What happened to the honest and reliable. Has the mechanic Ive known for years gone ? I would think twice about going here if you dont know about cars. I will not return and i will never recommend again. All my previous recommendations have been told to go elsewhere from today. You try and help local business only to get ripped off in these trying times. Shame on you Thurnby Motors for taking advantage of a woman. Thumbs down. Should have been more aware when they asked for cash only
