Very unpleasant to speak to and try to rush you off the phone, authorised payment for 1 saw blade and then they bill me for an extra charge over 400. So 1 saw blade cost me 781 which should have only been 309 !! Which they took in 2 different transactions. So can they be trusted with your details ?? (what happened to GDPR)

I'm writing because I had a very positive experience with Blyth compared to another reviewer. I was in the market for a heavy bandsaw and asked for quotations from several companies that are well known in this area. My workplace is challenging to reach (it's off road) and I specifically asked for quotations to deliver and install. Several companies simply ignored this request, and one suggested I use a machine haulier, which would have added around 1K to my cost. Blyth on the other hand, rang me and went through some details. They were aware of my situation and well prepared when they delivered (in fact their delivery mechanism was ingenous). I'm not a major purchaser (the Bandsaw was in fact new old stock and worth around 3K) but I was impressed by how they were happy to accomodate me. Before I purchased I went to their HQ and Aidan showed me around as well as let me view a couple of other machines that had been in the running. He was patient and he didn't pressure me to make a decision there and then. I've since had to address a minor issue (a handle clinch came lose, a manufacturers problem) and again he's invited me to send it to them for a free repair to save the expense of ordering a new part. Blyth have been going for a while and are I understand the UK's leading SCM distributor, which I think is one of the highest quality woodworking machinery brands, up with Martin and Felder, so I think they've been doing something right. I certaintly haven't felt any trust issues with them as the other reviewer implies they have suffered. I haven't hesitated to ask them to quote for other items.
