Been using these socks for years. Wear the indestructible HJ7 mostly and they never wear out. I work outdoors all year round so often use two layers in the winter using the HJ836. If your feet are warm and comfy the rest of you usually is. Also, great British company, just wish they'd bring the manufacturing back to the UK.

Have been buying HJ Hall Softops for 20+ years now, and they're still my favourite socks. Very helpful customer service when I buy from their website, always happy to advise and listen the the troubles of an old man with swollen legs!

Having read HJ HALLs story about honest john i bought a few pair of socks from them as they promote they manufacture in the uk and go on about the history in Hinckley . the socks are made abroad (cheap labour) and sold on the history of the company at expensive prices.... try buying from J ALEX SWIFT in Hathern they state made in England on the label. i am sure honest john Hall would not be impressed his family have sold out to cheap imports .i asked for a refund and postage paid but the answer was no as the product was not faulty it is sad you sell based on a lie.

I purchased 6 pairs of socks from this company, I will return half of them and throw the rest away because... they're not very good! I have written to the company FOUR times to ask A. Where their products are made and B. Where their cotton is sourced from. The HJ website is covered in that awful PR-babble about the company's UK history....it's insufferable to read as they clearly don't have a factory in the UK and time and context has made their history irrelevant. So where does their stuff get made...? If it's India or even Bangladesh I'm OK with that, if it's China I'm not as (as we all know) there are truly terrible things going on in China in that forced labour is being used to harvest cotton right now (and for how long?). If HJ will not disclose where their products are made then they are clearly hiding something. No pun intended but I will vote with my feet on this one.....
