I had asked for support and help with my mental health for the last 10 months and in November a referral was finally made by the GP surgery, after 2 months waiting to be contacted, I ended up phoning the hewat centre only to be told that my referral had been declined and the Gp surgery had been informed. I have asked why my referral had been declined and was told these actual words " I don't want to say,as I don't want to say the wrong thing, contact your GP. I have contacted my GP and even they are avoiding to give me an explanation, and like other people have stated my GP surgery also did not inform me that they had received a notification that the referral had been declined Originally I thought this was just because of my mental health issues, but after reading other people's experience's - reviews I know now that I am not alone. What is the point of having a mental health service is they are not going to see patients with mental health issues, another waste of money being spent on an NHS service that is failing to deliver. The lack of communication between the mental health team and GP surgery to inform me about the referral or give me an explanation why I cannot be seen by the mental health team has just caused more stress and anxiety .PI## POOR and not acceptable. Is it possible to know from various people who have experienced the same problems which are included in my honest review, what GP surgery has made their referral and then not been informed by their GP when the mental health team have declined help and emailed the GP, to let them know. I was told by a member of staff at the mental health center usually once the referral has been made , that you don't usually wait for more than 2 weeks, so like many other reviews, people have waited around for an average of over 6 weeks, though the GP surgery has been informed,so if the GP is sitting on this information they have, and are failing to let the person who is waiting to hear back from mental health team, I feel this is a serious breach of disrespect but more importantly a serious breach of care..and people's mental health is not being taken seriously

Absolute shambles if you are unfortunate enough to suffer with mental health issues my advice would be to steer well clear of this place they have no interest in your well being the are just ticking boxes and at the first opportunity will pass you back to your gp
