Leeds Van Hire

First time hiring from here, with my age (21) there was only a few companies who would hire out to me. The bigger companies like sixt and Salford wanted to upsell extra insurances, high deposits and I had heard that they are far from lenient when it comes to fuel and minor damage. Decided to try these guys out, quoted a good price and booked for 1st Feb. When I went to pick it up Dave (the owner) was there and got everything booked in for me. Was then showed around the van which was a MWB Transit. Was in good nick and damage that was already there had already been recorded. Van itself was clean inside and brilliant to drive. Smooth and no problems for a round trip from Leeds to Cambridge and back again. I didn't cause any damage, but I think they are fairly lenient which small bumps anyway. I drove my car to pick the van up, and I left it on the street. I left my keys with them and they were even kind and courteous enough to bring the car in at the end of the day, and put it in their locked yard to keep it secure. Really nice blokes. If I ever need to hire a van again I will come back here, and would recommend Dave and team to anyone, in particular young drivers over 21. Thanks again!

SHORT REVIEW: 10/10 - will 100% be hiring from Dave (the owner) again. Thanks to him and his great staff for making it so convenient for myself and the Mrs to rent at a much cheaper rate than anyone else - some 2/3rds the price of most of the others! Nice one! LONG REVIEW: Easily the best value van hire I have found after a LOT of searching. I have learned the hard way to steer clear of the larger providers, since they always get you with expensive prices or hidden extras. Leeds Van Hire has the personal touch, and well beyond offering amazing value for money, including added value through extras such as free upgrades if the chosen size isn't available, unlimited van mileage, and they even very kindly gave us a lift to the station once the van had been dropped off. . All vehicles are clean, tidy, and well maintained. They also offer a more relaxed approach to discretionary things such as scratches and bumps. For example, with a minor scratch that can be polished out easily, a large corporation will charge you regardless of whether the scratch can be easily cut and polished out of the paintwork. This is because the large corporations usually lease their vehicles, and have to carve out some profit when they rent to the customer. This is why they'll do things like put alloy wheels on their vehicles, knowing you will most likely scratch them. Leeds Van Hire will ensure you only have to focus on getting your driving done, without any unnecessary concerns.
