house was disgusting when we moved in. kettle had mould in it and there was a rat problem that we were not informed about. We had pictures of every issue. Despite the dreadful state of the house, we overheard a cleaner claiming that nothing was wrong with the house when we moved in despite mould and leftover/expired food in the sink and fridge.At the end of the tenancy, they cited a quote from a cleaner stating the house was left in a filthy condition. This is despite the fact that we left the house in a cleaner condition than it was in when we moved into it.Obviously we have photos to dispute this but it means nothing because they hold the power and can get away with robbing us. At the end of the tenancy we were charged an extortionate amount for non-existent issues. Most letting agencies will try to do things similar to this but ive never known one to attempt to take so much money.
