Back To Basement Ltd

We were looking for a builder to take on our ambitious and complex project consisting of a very wide kitchen-diner knock through at ground level, along with a basement conversion below. After speaking to a number of local builders and not feeling particularly confident in their ability to deliver on the more specialist aspects of the job, I made contact with Rubi. From the moment we met, I was impressed by Rubi's passion for both basement conversion work and building in general, and I felt very quickly that he was the right man for the job. The work took nearly 6 months from beginning to end, and presented an endless number of unexpected challenges, but Rubi, Tal and Jay remained professional, upbeat, enthusiastic and driven throughout. Construction is a messy and chaotic business, but the team was always well organised, neat and tidy, and considerate of my property. At all times, I was confident that Rubi was aiming to do the right thing, rather than the thing that would be easiest or quickest to do. He was very good at setting my expectations and including me in key decisions. The teams extraordinary breadth of skills meant that I had no need to source other contractors for things like kitchen fitting, built-in furniture and flooring. All additional work outside the scope of the original quote was undertaken to a high standard and at a very reasonable price. Looking back on the job, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that I chose the right contractor for the job. Rubi has a long waiting list, but he is undoubtedly worth the wait - I am yet to come across another tradesman with the same level of skill, experience, professionalism and drive. Im over the moon with the outcome of my building work and would recommend Back to Basement without hesitation.

We recently had a basement conversion completed by Rubi and his team and we were extremely happy with the whole experience from start to finish. We had a few quotes but no one else showed us the passion Rubi did for his work. When work started we couldnt believe what had been achieved in the first week, the team worked so hard to get things done as quickly as possible whilst not compromising on quality, they were also really clean and tidy. The conversion was completed in a month which was earlier than expected, but not surprising considering how tirelessly they worked. Rubi has a vast wealth of knowledge and experience which really shines through during the process, thank you so much for creating the space we had hoped for and we would definitely recommend!!

We are really happy with the service and finished result of The Back to Basement Teams work. Before work started Rubi was very thorough in explaining exactly what would be done, he was also very quick to respond to any queries we had. We immediately thought Rubi was both passionate and knowledgeable, and this was a major reason for us using back to basements. Whilst completing the work Tal his son was always very friendly and made time to discuss the project with us even if he was in the middle of a job when we came home. We are so glad we picked this company to convert our basement into new living space. We now have a utility room and toilet, and new living room. Rubi and his team transformed my cellar from a damp and scary space into a clean, insulated room that is a pleasure to spend time in. I was a little apprehensive about embarking on this project as I had never had building work of this magnitude undertaken, but the whole experience was a lot less stressful than I had feared, due to good communication, Rubi's team's unobtrusive way of working, and the attention to detail and good quality of work that was done. No hesitation to recommend Back to Basement for cellar renovation.

Rubi, Tal and team have just converted our basement from a damp, horrible space into an incredible home office. We couldnt be more pleased with the work they have done. We waited a little over a year due to Rubis waiting list, and he was well worth the wait. A few things that were particularly exceptional. 1) As well as specialising in basement conversions, Rubi is a general builder. This meant that no matter what was unearthed as the project progressed, for example an area of the cellar supporting the house which had no foundations, Rubi knew exactly what to do and there was no delay to the job. 2) As the work progressed, Rubi was very happy to flex the design, moving walls and altering the plan, always being very clear what would cost more and what wouldnt. 3) Rubis ability to visualise the end space and plan accordingly is phenomenal. This meant that we ended up with a space much better than Id imagined it could be. 4) Speed of work. There was no delay at any point in the project. Everything was timed and planned brilliantly, for example the plasterers finished on a Friday so it could start to dry over the weekend. Would not hesitate to recommend. Huge thanks to Rubi and Tal, truly exceptional.
