Abbey Wedding Warehouse

Went to chose my wedding dress with my best friend/chief bridesmaid, we were so excited. On arrival we were asked to leave our shoes by the door and wear the slippers provided. I thought this was very respectful to protect the gowns, then I saw the state of the slippers, they were so tatty and well worn. Karen introduced herself and then said right dive in, pick what you want, bring it upstairs when you are ready to try on oh ok. We waded through rail upon rail of tightly packed gowns, not much room to move and look. We picked a few and struggled upstairs with them. There was no changing room and I was left stood in the middle of the floor in my underwear in between trying on dresses. In the end I put my coat on as it was freezing, no heating apart from portable plug in radiators. My best friend had to help me in and out of gowns, then Karen came to help zip me up in one as my friend felt it was a bit to small and didnt want to break the zip with the words well youre in it but it needs altering to make it fit you (Im a 10/12 bottom and 12/14 top) She said the seamstress could make it fit and was quite easy. We werent allowed to take a photo of me in it and Im glad I took my wedding shoes as the ones at the shop were as tatty as the slippers. The recommended seamstress really had her work cut out but she was amazing, very skilled and made the whole experience much better. She did an amazing job of altering the dress for me and saving me from the near miss of having to go buy another gown. Overall a very unpleasant experience for me.

THE BEST WEDDING DRESS SHOP!!!! My sister came here last year and I also found my wedding dress for this year! The service is incredible! The lady was so kind. Cannot recommend this place enough!! Went yesterday with my Daughter to hopefully find the dress of her dreams. The place is absolutely packed with wedding dresses. She tried a few on which were not for her and was beginning to lose hope, when Karen brought us another one which didn't look much on the hanger but she tried it anyway and it was absolutely THE ONE. As Karen tells you when you call her, it's not going to be a posh boutique experience, but she's so down to Earth patient and helpful, not at all pushy. We got the dress at a great price too.

What can I say!!!!! This was my first time ever looking for my wedding dress, and I definitely went to the right place. Karen was absolutely outstanding!!! Very friendly, calm, professional, not pushy and was very chatty and not judgmental at all. She knew what I wanted and helped me every step of the way. She let me try on dresses without question and was very patient throughout the whole experience. What a lovely lady with some lovely dresses for all shapes and sizes. She has all the accessories and all items are at very reasonable prices. She also recommended a seamstress who is absolutely amazing. So friendly and welcoming into her home. Couldnt have asked for more. Thank you Karen. xxx
