Lovely campsite, lovely hosts and lovely location. The hosts Rick and his wife were warmly and sincerely welcoming. Rick went out of his way to make sure everyone settled in ok and orientated us to the onsite facilities, near by amenities such as the neighbouring farm shop, and places of interest nearby. The campsite is small, serene, simple, tranquil and secluded. It is set in a fantastic location on a farm surrounded by cows, with nearby sheep, deer, horses, other creatures that provide the all too familiar wonderful ambient sounds of the country side, beautiful to wake up to at first dawn, and really adds to the feeling of 'being away from it all' and close to nature. Yet at the same time the campsite is very close to Preston City Centre (5 miles-ish) less than an hour by bus to the trendy seaside town of Lytham, or The beautiful lake at Fairhaven, or St Anne's Beech or of course Blackpool which is a little further away by bus. The areas immediately surrounding the campsite are relatively flat and great for cycling which is what I did combined with buses, and of course walking. The grassed tent pitches are flat and sheltered by hedges and trees so lots of birds sounds morning and evening. The pitches are well spaced out and there aren't too many of them. The toilets and showers are clean and there is an inside and outside shower. Drinking water is available and there is also a fridge. Barbecues and wood fires are allowed. There is a hard court for football, basketball and other sports and there is a zip line which the children love. It's a very peaceful, simple and relaxing lovely campsite. Thanks for booking me in Rick, for your help onsite and for allowing me to check out later due to my late train time. Regards Steve ('One man and his bike')
