Martin Kaye solicitors have been excellent throughout the whole process helping myself and my partner to buy our first house, everyone I knew told me how stressful buying a house is but, Karen Grimshaw who has handled our case has been brilliant, she is very professional and friendly and made the whole process a doddle. I am extremely happy with all the work they have done for us and would recommend using Martin Kaye. Many thanks for everything!

You come to solicitors for help and guidance however unfortunately all I was made to feel was 10% more anxious than I already was. A solicitor was allocated after my initial enquiry on whether they could assist, I gave a comprehensive breakdown of my situation and quotes of costs came back. A few hours later I was actually advised the solicitor hadn't got a clue regarding what I required, doubled the cost for him to teach himself about this area and then told me I'd need a barrister to draft a response letter. I made mention of my concern that this wouldn't be done within the time scale required (not my doing) and he simply said I could hand deliver my own holding letter to the other party if he emailed it to me. After years of abuse from this other party, I fail to see how that is appropriate. The solicitor emailed me asking for more information (not yet instructed). I wanted to clarify what he wanted to ensure full transparency. This solicitor read a letter I was sent and wasn't interested in the slightest of my side of the story. Going back to ringing for simple clarification, he started to claim he was going to charge for his time for my question. Don't ask me for more information/detail if you are going to refuse to clarify. I was left feeling as if this solicitor wasn't interested in custom, was way above his head in my query and didn't fill me with confidence should I instruct him, he would even want to speak to me, look at my evidence or answer questions. It all appeared too much hard work. Yet was happy to take 1200 off me. Luckily I am switched on as an individual and hadn't transferred anything (despite saying I could as soon as he told me how!) This solicitor clearly didn't like the fact I have law knowledge (albeit criminal and not civil) and trained to ask a lot of questions to ensure I am fully aware and making informed choices. If I don't understand, I'm not going forward. I think that is fair. The solicitor I have instructed has looked at all my documents, advised her next steps and what happens going forward, has been extremely informative on what my money pays for, and overall has left me feeling confident in her services. That is how you obtain custom.

I moved over to Martin Kaye and Kirsty after a disappointment use of a now defunct solicitors, they wer useless, no communication except the bill, on my first contact and meeting with Kirsty is a breath of fresh air, tbings moved incredibly fast compared to my last company. My ex wife was an awkward customer, but with the team at Martin Kaye the divorce was secured with an outcome i was very happy with
